We have set up this blog so our members can voice their opinions about relevant topics, issues, events, etc. Also to express your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and "mea-culpeas".

I think this is a wonderful idea. It's important that teachers are able to discuss their opinions about union-related issues at the QHST.
I applaud Wally for allowing us to use his blog to discuss various "hot topics", however I always felt somewhat uneasy knowing that students have access to his site and leave comments on articles dealing with issues that, in my opinion, need not concern them. I would hope that this blog will allow ALL teachers to speak freely without student feedback. Believe me, I've been stopped by several of my Freire students who question me about the articles on Brown's blog... I adore my students and don't mind including them in certain professional conversations, but I don't feel it's always appropriate or necessary.
